Vintage 1971 14" Ethnic EeGee Softina Drink and Wet Girl Doll

The EeGee Doll Company was founded in New York City in 1971 by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Goldberger. The company was active until 1987. This doll was included in a doll lot I purchased on EBay.
It is a vintage 1971 EeGee “softina”baby doll. “Softina” refers the material the doll was made of that supposedly felt like “real” skin. The only positional part of this doll is the head. The rest of the body is “frozen”. The doll’s black rooted hair was a tangled,brittle mess. It looked like someone had tried to trim it and gave up. After several shampoo and deep conditioning treatments, I was finally able to comb it back from her face. I added a barrette with colors that coordinate with her dress. She now looks very different from when I got her. I love her big brown eyes and sweet pretty little face. She is in fairly decent condition given her age. Her only distracting feature is a diagonal slash mark across her left arm and chest, possibly made by a lawn mower blade. I made her a purple flowered dress and added panties. In looking through my doll shoes, I spotted some vintage rubber baby doll shoes to complete her look.
All my rescue dolls and other items are from a smoke free environment.
